Tevie Pulling Away
Teversal continued their battle against relegation from the Central Midlands Alliance Premier South with a comfortable, 4-1 win, away to Arnold Town, on Saturday afternoon.
Although there’s still plenty of work to do for the Tevie boys, at the wrong end of the division, the win stretched their current, unbeaten run, to six matches, winning four of them, as the turn-around continues to gather pace.
The visitors took the lead through Tyron Macaskill after just two minutes at Eagle Valley, the score staying that way until early in the second when Macaskill added his, and Tevie’s second of the afternoon.
Matty Hubbard pulled one back for Arnold just after the hour mark, but the visitors were far from done and they wrapped up the points thanks to goals in the final twenty from Nathan Hadley and Joshua Parfitt, who else.
Mansfield Hosiery Mills kept their noses above the South drop-zone with a 2-0 win away to Holbrook St. Michaels, Warwick Wood with a brace for the visitors, whilst high-flying Linby Colliery Welfare were pegged back after being held to a 1-1 draw away to Derby Singh Brothers.
Meanwhile, at the top end of the Premier North, fifth place Worksop Town Reserves, and sixth place Blidworth Welfare, enjoyed success on the road at AFC Bentley, and Glapwell, respectively.
Both chasing a top four finish, Josh Sinclair grabbed a first half brace as Worksop’s second string won 5-1, further goals coming from Harry Roddis, George Jenkinson, and Ollie Ellery, whilst Blidworth won 4-1 courtesy of braces from both Benjamin Copestake and Archie Ward.
There were two games in Division One East, with RHP Sports & Social closing in on runners-up following a 2-0 win away to Linby CW Reserves, whilst lowly Southwell City Development edged a five-goal thriller at home to mid-table Pilsley Community.
Ashland Rovers Reserves, in Division Two, lost 2-1 at home to fourth place Mickleover Athletic Reserves, Ashland looking for a sixth-place finish.
