Linby Win Senior Trophy

Linby Colliery Welfare won the Nottinghamshire FA Senior Trophy after a 3-0 win over Bildworth Welfare in the final on Tuesday night. Second half goals from Spencer Pollitt on 53 minutes, Ash Bernard on 81 and in injury time a third by Ewan Gibson from the spot, ensured a perfect nights work for the Church Lane based outfit who in front of a packed crowd at Debdale Lane the home of Sherwood Colliery FC, took home the prize against spirited Central Midlands Alliance league rivals from the North.

Back in league action, mid-table SJR Worksop and Ollerton Town drew 0-0 whilst Worksop Town Reserves move up to fifth after beating Kiveton MW 3-1.

Ninth placed Harworth Colliery, one of the counties northern most clubs, lost 2-0 at home to Hatfield Town who are third in the Black Dragon Premier Division North.

In the South Division, it was a bad night on Wednesday for Mansfield Hosiery Mills who were beaten 5-0 at runaway leaders South Normanton Athletic. The Mills are currently fourth bottom a place and a point above the drop zone with four matches left to play.

In the Notts Senior League Premier Division there were wins for Woodthorpe Park Rangers and West Bridgford Reserves on Tuesday night.

Woodthorpe moving to thirteenth with a 5-1 win over Southwell City Reserves whilst West Bridgford beat Beeston 4-0.

Elsewhere AFC Dunkirk drew 2-2 with Keyworth United.

In Division One, Hucknall Town Reserves move to ninth in the table after a 6-0 win over Beeston Old Boys whilst PMG move to tenth and leapfrog Clifton Reserves in eleventh after a 3-1 win. Finally, thirteenth placed AFC Sandiacre Town beat Stapleford Reserves in their local derby 3-2.
