CMA Round Up – Tevie Win
There’s a glimmer of hope at the bottom end of the Central Midlands Alliance Premier South for Dave Turner’s Teversal side, following their 3-1 home win on Saturday afternoon.
It was Tevie’s first win this year, their last coming back in late December, and only their fourth in the league this season, as they won 3-1 at home to fourth bottom, Derby Singh Brothers.
Sam Jackson supplied the cross for Joshua Parfitt to open the scoring for the visitors after just ten minutes, the hosts equalising just before the half hour mark.
Teversal restored their lead early in the second half when William Hunter curled home a left-footed effort, with Kurtis Bamford completing the scoring with a free-kick in stoppage time – they now have seven games to pull off ‘the great escape’ of which five are at home, and another is a local dust-up away to Arnold Town.
Teversal – Oliver Winfield, William Hunter, Jack McWilliams, Callum Spencer, Ryan Ordidge, Shane Burton, Oliver Baines, Joshua Parfitt, Kurtis Bamford, Troy Maltby, Sam Jackson (subs – Dillon Gregory, Flynn Marshall, Jack Daniels, Rocco Hardy, Harley Moore)
There wasn’t much joy elsewhere in the Premier South, Mansfield Hosiery Mills earning a draw when away to AFC Normanton, whilst Arnold lost 3-0 at Bakewell Town, and high-flying Linby Colliery Welfare’s unbeaten home record ended when losing 2-1 to visiting Graham Street Prims.
Goalless until the closing stages, Mason Moore’s goal with twelve to go for the hosts looked like it had earned them all three points, however, the visitors struck twice, in the 86 and 94 minutes, to snatch all three points.
Both Worksop sides were in action in Premier North with Worksop Town Reserves jumping to sixth place with a 3-1 win at home to fourth place Elite AFC, Rostyslav Yaremenko with a brace; victory for the Tigers’ second string, and with games in hand, sees them twelve off third place Hatfield Town.
SJR meanwhile, they won 1-0 away to second bottom Rossington Main Reserves, Scott Wesley’s goal seeing them in ninth place.
There was also plenty of action in Division One East for Notts-based clubs as second place Ashland Rovers notched six for the second successive game, this time easing past visitors Pilsley Community, 6-0, with Lee Naughton and Michal Gawlik both bagging braces.
The win moves them to within two points of leaders Shirebrook Soldiers, who’ve three games in hand, but were held to a 3-3 draw when away to fourth place Blidworth Welfare Reserves.
There was also home wins for third place RHP Sports (their seventh straight win), 3-1 against Mansfield Hosiery Mills Blue, and for Eastwood & Kimberley, 2-1 against Southwell City Development.
