Only a handful of games involving Notts clubs were played in the Central Midlands Alliance on Saturday afternoon, with mixed fortunes for the two Worksop sides in the Premier North, alongside another win for high-flying Linby Colliery Welfare, and a battling for Teversal in the Premier South.

In the former of those, SJR Worksop welcomed seventh place Blidworth Welfare to the Rockware Glass S&S Club, the hosts nicking a 2-0 success which not only put them into tenth in the table, but stretched their current, unbeaten run, to five matches.

A goal in each half was enough to settle the contest as Hayden Covill netted in the first, and Aaron Redfern the second, for a valuable, three points, and moved them to within five points of sixth place Staveley Miners Welfare.

As for Worksop Town Reserves, two places and four points above SJR in the table, they suffered a heavy defeat on the road at leaders Dinnington, Bradley Kerr bagging a hat-trick for the hosts as they won 5-0, and maintained their ten=point lead at the top.

Over in the South meanwhile, and Linby, they are keeping themselves on the coat-tails of the front two following a narrow, 1-0 success, against local rivals Arnold Town.

Mason Moore’s goal midway through the second period earned the hosts three points, they sitting four behind second place graham Street Prims, and just seven off leaders South Normanton Athletic; Graham Street, and Linby, both have three games in hand at present as well.

Speaking of the second-place side, they edged a narrow game, 2-1, away to fourth bottom Mansfield Hosiery Mills, for whom Billy Brooks netted, whilst at bottom club Teversal, six goals were netted as they held sixth place Holbrook St. Michael’s to a draw.

A goal down at the break the hosts rallied, and battled, during a frenetic second half, to grab a share of the spoils – Cory Burton scored twice, his first coming just before the hour mark, and his second with sixteen remaining, before substitute Kurtus Bamford, on at half-time, grabbed the hosts’ third with four minutes left.

Three games involving Notts clubs were played across the regionalised Division One’s, SJR Worksop Development crashing to a 3-1 reverse away to Appleby Frodingham in the North Division, Callum Wright with the consolation for the Devs who’ve slipped to fourth.

Meanwhile, in the East Division, Kirton Brickworks strengthen fourth place with a comfortable, 4-1 home win, over visiting Southwell City Development; Joe Tunard scored twice for the hosts alongside goals from Jack March and Aron Ellis, whilst Long Bennington won 2-1 at home to Eastwood & Kimberley.
