Evans Through To Last Four
Birmingham born Brit, Dan Evans is through to the men’s tournament semi-finals at the Rothesay Nottingham Open after beating Marc Andrea-Huesler in two straight sets. He will now play the American Jack Sock for a place in tomorrow’s final whilst the other semi matches up two Australians in Jordan Thompson and Alexei Popyrin.
In the women’s quarter finals, Britain’s Harriet Dart was beaten by American Alison Riske in three sets whilst Viktorija Golubic of Switzerland beat Australia’s Ajla Tomljanovic to set up a semi-final tie to be played later today.
The other women’s semi-final match will pair up Beatriz Haddad Maia and Tereza Martincova. Maia beating first seed and favourite Maria Sakkari in three tight sets whilst Martincova saw off Zhang of China, 6-3, 6-2.
As well as the men & women’s semi final matches today, they’ll be doubles semi’s with British interest. Samantha Murray Sharan teams up with Vivian Heisen of Germany to take on Monica Niculescu and Caroline Dolehide.
Whilst it’ll be a busy day for Beatriz Maia who partners Zhang Shuai to take on Chan Ha-Ching and Shuko Aoyama for a place in the final.
Finally the men’s doubles final is an all Brit affair. Julian Cash & Henry Patten take on Jonny O’Mara and Ken Skupski.
