Ins & Outs At The Lane
Notts County have signed defender Tobi Adebayo-Rowling from Ebbsfleet United as Head Coach Michael Doyle leaves to join Ian Burchnall at Forest Green Rovers.
The club yesterday signed the right sided Adebayo-Rowling, a long term target and a player that had expressed interest from several football league clubs.
A Notts County statement saying “Tobi has all the attributes we look for in an attacking full back or wing back.
“He has extreme pace, is defensively strong and possesses one-v-one ability to create chances in the final third.
“He joins us after an excellent couple of seasons at Ebbsfleet, where he has really kickstarted his career.”
Previously, the London born 25-year-old started his youth career at Sheffield Wednesday before joining Peterborough United in 2015, making his pro debut at the Posh in League One.
After five league appearances at London Road he joined Cork City before moving to Bromley and after a spell at Eastbourne Borough, he moved to Ebbsfleet in 2020 where he proved to be a mainstay in the team.
In bolstering their right side further, the club are delighted to have also extended the contract of Richard Brindley who puts pen to paper on a two year deal.
Brindley had often played in a back three under Burchnall and can also play as a right full back, now aged 29 he’ll continue to offer quality and experience in defence with the player himself stating “Everything about the club is unique – the style of play, the fans, the history.
Brindley said “I want to be in the EFL with this club. Nottingham has become my second home and I want to remain loyal.”
Finally as Michael Doyle leaves to join up with his former boss at the New Lawn, his parting message was to say “I will always be grateful to the club for giving me the opportunity to take my first steps into coaching and to make some brilliant memories on the pitch.
“Of course, we shared some very tough times too and it certainly gives me no pleasure to leave the club outside of the EFL.
“But with the structure and people in place I have every confidence Notts will be back where they belong sooner rather than later.”
The club have today said they’ll be looking to take a couple of weeks to ensure that the right management team is picked to carry the side forward into the 2022/23 campaign.
