Notts Sign Arter On Loan
Notts County have signed Harry Arter from Nottingham Forest on loan until the end of the season.
The Irish International has had a nightmare time Trentside since joining Forest in 2020 from Fulham with the midfielder playing only 13 games last season and none so far this campaign.
32-year-old Arter who has 350 league games to his name did have a short spell on loan at Charlton Athletic from August until January this year but the player only made four league appearances for the Addicks before returning to the City Ground.
With no chance of being in the plans of Steve Cooper’s side, Arter has opted to take a move across the water where he’ll at least get first team football and with 19 international caps he could prove a great acquisition for a Notts side who have fell off the promotion race ladder in recent weeks.
On signing the Sidcup born former Bournemoth star, Magpies Head Coach Ian Burchnall stated “We’re delighted that the opportunity to sign someone of Harry’s pedigree has presented itself to us.
“This move was instigated by Harry himself, which demonstrates his character and determination to play competitive football, and we’d like to thank Forest for their cooperation in making the deal happen.
“We’ll obviously have to build Harry’s minutes gradually initially but with so many games coming up in quick succession we’re confident he’ll be up to speed quickly and will be a big help to us.”
