Beeston Hosting Malaysia Tonight
Beeston Hockey Club are in action tonight, as the men’s first eleven take on the Malaysian National Team XI in a match that starts at 7pm at the Nottingham Hockey Centre.
Malaysia are ranked eleventh in the world and visit the UK and Ireland on tour and have already played the Bees England Hockey league rivals Hampstead & Westminster who they drew with 5-5 last time out, as well as Old Georgians who they drew with 2-2 and Surbiton who they lost to 2-1, so are still looking for their first tour win.
The match is free to enter tonight, and there’s international cuisine and music, a party atmosphere for all so come along if you’re in the city and enjoy.
The event will be attended by Nottingham Belong, a charity which provides support to migrants who are living in Nottingham.
Belong formed a formal partnership with Beeston Hockey club earlier in the year to unite communities through sport. These families will be providing international cuisine at the match from the a variety of different countries and cultures, including the Caribbean, Latin America, Pakistan, Sudan, Poland, the Congo and many more.
Although food and gate entrance will be free of charge, the club would welcome donations from attendees to support the brilliant work that Belong do in our community.
