Doucet & Wallace Commit To Panthers
Having just won some newly polished silverware in a fabulous final against the clubs nearest and dearest rivals, the Nottingham Panthers are delighted with news on announcing the return of Director of Hockey, Gui Doucet and their Head Coach, Tim Wallace for the next season ahead.
The pair put pen to paper in London on Thursday. The announcement comes just a few days after the duo helped steer the club to lifting the first ever Elite Series championship.
Panthers were in the Playoff hunt when the Elite League had to shut down last year because of the pandemic which brought the management duo’s “rookie season” in charge to a premature close, they had also finished as runners up in the IIHF Continental Cup earlier in the campaign, the second major competition of European Ice Hockey behind the Champions Cup.
Since being in charge of the Panthers the managerial duo have had to endure the ups and downs, the pluses and the minuses, the rights and the wrongs of the general landscape that came with Covid.
The club state “They came back together to take charge of the on-ice aspect of the Elite Series adventure throughout April which ended in a straight victory in the best-of-three final against arch-rivals Sheffield Steelers last weekend.”
The extension to their stay in Nottingham has been widely received as positive news with many fans delighted and optimistic that the club can continue their good form for the remainder of 2021 and beyond.
