Forest Welcomed At Meadow Lane
Nottingham Forest U23’s were in action last night as they beat Watford 4-0 with Alex Gibson-Hammond, Ethan Dekal-Daks, Will Swan and Elliott Andrew all on target for a young Reds development team but the game was perhaps more significant due to the fact it was played at Meadow Lane the home of Notts County FC.
The two clubs, both Forest and County have agreed terms to play a number of NFFC U23 matches at the famous old stadium this season as the relationship between the two establishments continues under the clubs current owners with Notts County having full use of Forest’s Holme Road Training facility by Lady Bay, a venue which Forest have owned since the days of Clough and co but is now surplus to requirements due to their modern base at the Nigel Doughty Academy just down the road.
Last night’s game for Forest was played behind closed doors and that will stay the same until further notice but watching Andy Reid’s young side was Chris Hughton and his full management staff who were in attendance casting eyes over his youngsters, no doubt being impressed by what he saw as Forest were comprehensive in their win over the hornets.
Since the start of the season Forest have won four matches and drew once in the Professional Development League as they head the table with 13 points from their five matches played.
