Forest Sack Lamouchi

Nottingham Forest have sacked Manager Sabri Lamouchi. The decision comes as no surprise with the Frenchman’s side struggling towards the bottom of the Football League Championship with no wins or no points from the clubs four games played this season.

In all the Reds were without a win in eleven league and cup games and had been beaten in their last seven matches having missed out on last season’s playoffs in final day disappointment.

The club have immediately replaced Lamouchi with a new coach in Chris Hughton who joins having had successful Championship promotions with the likes of Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Forest didn’t comment anything other than that the contract of Lamouchi had been terminated with immediate effect, shortly after announcing that a new man would be taking his place.

Lamouchi was a popular figure amongst fans early on in his Forest reign but with dwindling performances that often included defensive football he slowly lost his grip of faith placed in him and with results sliding from bad to worse the club had no option but to part company and recharge a new set of batterys.

Some cracking performances will not be forgotten, wins against Fulham, Swansea, Derby, Brentford (twice) and Leeds to name a few but some awful displays, notably against Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton, Millwall, Barnsley and on the last day of last season against Stoke unfortunately outweighed the Frenchmans good work.

This season has simply been a disaster with four successive league defeats, the Reds did at least score a goal at the weekend, their first of the campaign but with 13 new additions it is a new team that also needs time to gel.

Unfortunately for Lamouchi, team won’t get to gel under his stewardship.
