Notts Clash At Vikings Abandoned

Without a ball being bowled the first match of the 2020 Vitality Blast campaign between Yorkshire Vikings and Notts Outlaws at Headingley was abandoned last night as rain fell throughout the evening in Leeds.

The match was supposed to start at 6:35pm and be screened live on Sky but that start time was left in tatters due to the weather and with rain continuing to fall through the night the decision was made at 7:05pm by the Umpires to conclude that play would not be possible.

In fact of the seven matches played in the Vitality Blast last night only one achieved a result as Lancashire beat Durham at the Riverside with all 40 overs of the match played. Only two other games saw action but not enough to conclude a result whilst four matches didn’t even get started.

Attention now turns to Durham on Saturday for Notts as they hope for an improved afternoons weather in hoping to kick off their season with a win.
