Radcliffe Flying High

Radcliffe-on-Trent Cricket Club are the last remaining team in the Notts Premier League to hold a 100% record after beating Cavaliers & Carrington at the weekend.

Radcliffe reached 217 all out from 38.5 overs on Saturday with Joe Richardson hitting 64 as Usman Arshad took a fab 5 for 55 before Cavs crumbled in return. The home side were all out for 138 despite a 54 from former Leicestershire & Derbyshire batsmen Shivsinh Thakor. Irfan Haider taking 4/38 for the league leaders of the South Division who now stand alone on maximum points with four wins from four played.

Also in the division Attenborough won a cracker at Plumtree with the away side batting first they were bowled out for 158 with Zak Tribe hitting 59, James Ayres with fabulous figures of 4/23. In reply Plumtree were bowled out for 149 with five balls remaining and just nine runs short of target. Ben Kitt with superb bowling stats of 4/30 playing a big part in Attenborough securing the win.

Elsewhere in the South Division Wollaton beat Clifton by 57 runs at the WSA. The home team scored 171 for 8 from 40 overs before the visitors replied all out in just 30 overs for 114.

In the North Division Papplewick & Linby beat Mansfield Hosiery Mills after bowling them out for just 93. In reply they took just 22 overs with the loss of three wickets to reach their target to win the game.

On Saturday Caythorpe won a cracker at Hucknall as they hit 207/8 after 40 overs with Hishaam Khan top scoring on 69. In response Hucknall fell all out for 205 with just three runs needed off their last ball to win. Khan showing an all round display to take 4 for 36 but it was Andrew Staszkiewicz who took the last two wickets at a pivotal time in the game to help victory for the away side.

Also on Saturday another fantastic nail biter was won by Cuckney at Kimberley Institute. The away side batting first hit 189 with Kimberley in reply falling short by just one run as they lost their last wicket with two balls remaining. Tom Rowe scoring a hapless 53 to top score on the day.

Finally… There was also a match on Sunday in the North Division as Kimberley hosted Caythorpe with the home side winning comfortably thanks to another half century by Tom Rowe (58) and a 68 from Martin Weightman as they reached 238/6 from 40 overs. In return Caythorpe were bowled out for 158 with Liam Patterson-White and Zain Raman taking three wickets apiece for Kimberley who now sit two points clear at the top of the table having played a game more than second spot Cuckney.
