Bowery To Become A Stag

Mansfield Town have signed talented striker Jordan Bowery for an undisclosed fee from MK Dons.

The move for the 28-year-old will be made upon the transfer window re-opening but the two clubs and player have all agreed in principle with the Nottingham born star looking like becoming the first summer signing for Mansfield Manager Graham Coughlan.

Bowery scored two goals in sixteen League One appearances for MK Dons who struggled prior to lockdown eventually more than satisfied with the divisions outcome to conclude proceedings as they hovered just five points ahead of the drop zone in nineteenth.

Son of former Nottingham Forest striker Bert, Bowery started out at Chesterfield before moving to Aston Villa where he played 19 Premier League games. After a loan spell at Doncaster he joined Rotherham United and has since had spells at Bradford City, Oxford United, Leyton Orient and Crewe Alexandra before his move to Milton Keynes.

A quick and strong presence in attack, Bowery’s approach work does not go un-noticed and although his best season return is 13 goals (whilst at Crewe during 2017/18) he offers much more to his team-mates in attack with strength, physicality and experience of League Two football, essential as the Stags look to gain promotion next season.

On signing Bowery stated “I’m excited about this move to Mansfield. I feel like this is the right place for me to show what I can do.”

“I will work as hard as anyone. I’m athletic, powerful, like to run in behind, control and hold up the ball. I’ll do whatever it takes to get a goal and work hard for the team.”

“I’ll now be looking to get myself in peak condition for whenever we return. I’ll be raring to go when we do.”

Manager Graham Coughlan also delighted with his capture stated “As a frontman, Jordan is a real handful and has the attributes of what we are looking for.”

“He will complement the team that we are building. He is big, strong and quick and his link-up play and creativity are excellent.”

“Jordan’s challenge now is to fulfil his potential and become a real force in this division.”
