Josh Completes His Marathon

Little over a month ago we gave you news on a young man aged just 16 having raised over £2,000 for the NHS who was just a couple of days in to running 31 half marathons in 31 days.

Josh Burkitt, the great nephew of former Nottingham Forest FA Cup winning captain Jack, set out from his Newark home along various different routes starting the 1st May before completing the last leg of his relay on Sunday and today we have details that Jack has raised already over £8,200 after running 13.1 miles everyday for the last month.

The world record attempt has drawn attention from the media with Radio Newark and ITV amongst those reporting on the incredible young man who burned over 56,000 calories in over 4,500 hours of running in May.

The amazing achievement has seen Josh smash his £100 target to smithereens as he approaches near £10k in funds raised and you can help by donating even more here in the aid of the NHS.

After completing the last leg of his 31st half marathon in 31 days on Sunday Josh simply said “Thank you everyone for the support we have done it”

A young man of few words who’s actions have spoken loud and proud we congratulate Josh for a fantastic months work and for raising so much money for a worthy cause.

From all at Nottingham Sport and across the county, well done Josh.
