Josh Running To Raise For NHS
Newark born youngster Josh Burkitt is running a half marathon every day in May to raise money for the NHS.
The sixteen-year-old Nottingham Forest fan is the great great nephew of the Reds 1959 FA Cup winning skipper Jack Burkitt and is currently also at Boston United where he plays in the youth team as a centre half.
Josh who started the challenge on Friday has already raised nearly £2,000 ran the first day distance of 13.10 miles in 1 hour 41 minutes around his home town of Newark-on-Trent and is now four days into a 31 day challenge that is raising huge support, awareness and donations by the day.
After completing day four earlier today Josh stated on his Facebook page “To have so much support in the early days of the challenge is amazing with over 300 shares on snapchat and over 100 shares on Facebook (in total).”
He said ”to be contacted by the Radio, Nottingham Post, Nottingham Forest and also the boot room at Swansea city is amazing, and all the support from Boston United and Newark Town.”
