Worrall Extends Stay At Forest
Joe Worrall is the latest young Nottingham Forest star to be rewarded for his fine performances this season as the club have provided the centre back with a contract extension until 2024.
The 23 year old Hucknall born defender bleeds red but might have thought his Forest career was over after being shipped out on loan to Rangers last season unfancied by then Manager Aitor Karanka.
Since returning from a successful spell at the Gers playing 32 games in all competitions including some impressive performances in the Europa League Worrall has been a brick in the heart of the Forest defence this season reinvigorated by the confidence shown in him from Manager Sabri Lamouchi.
Worrall a main stay these days in the Reds defence has been at the club since the age of 14 and has also captained the England U20 side as well as playing for the U21’s on three occasions.
With speculation in recent months due to Premier League interest from the likes of West Ham United, Everton, Norwich City, Arsenal and Burnley to name a few it has been a great long term deal for the club in capturing a talented young man who is simply ‘one of their own’.
Worrall who tweeted “the happiest man in Nottingham” after signing his deal will be looking for double delight on Saturday as he faces West Bromwich Albion with the reds needing something from the game as they look to continue their promotion push.
