Bees Back In Action After Winter Break

After a long winter lay off the batteries are fully recharged at Beeston Hockey Club as both the ladies and gents resume their National Premier Division campaigns this weekend as they look to start the second half of the 2019/20 season with victory.

On Saturday Beeston Women are in Investec League action as they host Clifton Robinsons at the Nottingham Hockey Centre with a 2pm start scheduled.

After 12 games played Clifton (based in Bristol) are currently fifth in the table on sixteen points and four places above Beeston who are second from bottom in ninth.

Beeston have had a tough first half of the season losing nine of their twelve games with three wins but shown signs against league leaders Surbiton before Christmas that they can still be competitive and will be hoping for a win that will kick start their push up the table.

Whilst the women are at home on Saturday the men kickstart their 2020 away at Old Georgians on Sunday who play in Addlestone, Surrey.

The home side are currently fourth in the Mens Hockey League Premier Division table but a win could take them as high as second in the league.

Beeston are just a place behind their opponents in fifth but with a ten point difference the Bees sit only on 14 points having won four, lost six and drew two of their 12 league games so far.

The match starts at 2pm on Sunday and we’ll keep you up to date with the scores in both games.

As always you can download the latest Beeston Hockey Club match day programme free through their website here whilst the club in other news are proud to announce a new partnership with Nottingham Trent University which will help aim to professionalise the training environment for elite players.
