Panthers Aim For Final Berth
Nottingham Panthers are in action tonight as they take on Cardiff Devils at the Motorpoint Arena knowing that a win will see the Panthers through to this seasons Challenge Cup Final.
The two teams are level on aggregate after a 5-5 thriller in Wales last week during a classic semi-final first leg which sets up the second leg very nicely indeed.
The winners will take on Sheffield Steelers or Glasgow Clan who also play tonight with the Steelers 5-1 up from their first leg.
Nottingham have won the competition a record 8 times and they’ll be looking to reach their 12th final in all after last winning the trophy in 2016 but will do it following two defeats last weekend the teams first back to back losses since October. On Sunday the Panthers were beaten by the Devils in the Elite League but with one eye on tonight’s game Coach Tim Wallace stated that particular defeat was potentially down to the teams ‘mental approach’ which surely won’t be an issue with everything to play for this evening.
Adam Deutsch will likely miss the tie whilst Brett Bulmer will be assessed prior to face off on whether he’ll be fit enough to start.
With tickets from just £10 and £5 it really is ‘winner takes all’ as we cross our fingers and toes for Panthers victory.
