Postponements Dampen Night’s Football
The heavy rain on Tuesday put pay to plenty of games across the county with Notts County’s National League match at AFC Fylde called off just a couple of hours prior to kick off the biggest scalp of all.
Notts fans were already on the road to the North West as they got the message that the Fylde pitch was unplayable with the club having draining issues in recent weeks caused by a towel blocking the system.
The heavy downpour on Tuesday afternoon however didn’t just effect those in the North West, in Nottinghamshire Selston FC’s Midland Football League match with Long Eaton was called off as was Newark Flowserve’s short trip to Derbyshire as they and South Normanton FC fell victim to the weather.
In the East Midlands Counties League West Bridgford’s match verses Barrow Town was also called off whilst in the Central Midlands League Blidworth Welfare v Underwood Villa was also postponed.
Teams hoping to have better luck tonight include Worksop Town who travel to Penistone Church in the Sheffield & Hallamshire Cup whilst Cotgrave face Aslockton & Orston at Woodview in the NSL.
Finally all going well Collingham will host Harworth Colliery tonight in the Central Midlands Black Dragon North League whilst Nottingham FC travel to Heanor Town Reserves in the Steelbeams Derby Presidents Cup.
