Malan Rockets To 100

New Trent Rockets batsmen Dawid Malan hit 103 not out from just 51 balls as he became only the second England batsmen to reach a century in Twenty20 international cricket earlier today.

Malan who signed for the Rockets in the draft pick for the hundred ball competition which starts next summer hit nine fours and six sixes with a strike rate of 201.96 during England’s 76 run win over their hosts New Zealand.

Malan who played for Middlesex last season but has since signed for Yorkshire as well as the Rockets for the franchise competition is now second in the list of all time highest scores for England in Twenty20 internationals. First inevitably is his new Rockets team-mate Alex Hales who’s record score of 116 not out came against Sri Lanka in 2014, Interestingly third place on the all-time list is also a new Rocket signing with Bottesford born Luke Wright scoring 99 not out against Afghanistan in 2012.

Four more scores in the top ten highest ever for England belong with Rockets stars as Nottinghamshire maverick Alex Hales has two more scores including a 99 at Trent Bridge which he hit against West Indies in 2012 whilst Joe Root has a 90 not out against Australia along with an 83 against South Africa.

England now face a deciding tie against New Zealand in Auckland on Sunday with the series score on 2-2 before the Test Series against the black caps starts on the 20th November.
