Giant Weekend Ahead For Panthers
Nottingham Panthers will face quite literally a ‘big’ weekend at the Motorpoint Arena as they take on Belfast Giants in back to back home games on both Saturday and Sunday evening.
The two sides face off first on Saturday night at 7pm before returning to action a day later over Sunday tea time with a 4pm start. Tickets are available for both matches by visiting the Panthers Box Office, purchasing online or calling 0843 373 3000.
The Northern Irish side will offer Tim Wallace’s improving team a stern test over two games as Belfast are at currently six straight wins in the Elite Ice Hockey League sitting second behind Sheffield Steelers with three matches in hand.
The Panthers lie 8th but have been buoyed by recent results themselves with a pair of Challenge Cup wins against Manchester at the weekend and the team are unbeaten in 3 having won 4 of their last five matches.
Nottingham will however be without forward Georgs Golovkovs who will be sidelined for a few weeks.
Coach Tim Wallace said “this is our playoffs and is a huge weekend for us” stating “the guys have been playing well but Belfast is a different beast.” He stated “It’s a great test, last five games have been pretty positive and we’re building confidence, If we stick to what we do best we have a good chance to win”
Homegrown talent Robert Lachowicz said on the teams recent form “things seem to be falling into place a little bit” suggesting “Belfast will be tough but we’ve got what it takes to do them over”.
