NSL Round Up – Cranmers Comfortable At Sez
The Cranmers are still hopeful of finishing third in the Nottinghamshire Senior League, strengthening their case with a comfortable road win at lowly FC Sez on Saturday afternoon.
Aslockton & Orston saw their 5-0 win continue their push on their best ever finish, and most goals scored, in what has been a more than productive season.
Goals late in the first half, from Kieran Wells and Gregg McLean, had the visitors two to the good at the interval; McLean added the third just after the hour mark as the floodgates opened late in the second half.
A fourth goal came via Aidan Loscalzo with five minutes remaining, and the rout was completed at the death when Reece Jones chipped in with the fifth; unbeaten in their last six, the Cranmers now prepare for a double-header to finish their season, a final day at home to champions FCV Grace Dieu, and against the same opponent in the NSL Senior Cup final, at Hucknall, a week later.
Keyworth United closed their season with a six-goal, home draw with Borrowash Victoria, the sides playing out an end of season, 3-3 thriller, Theo Smith bagged a hat-trick as FC Cavaliers edged visiting Ruddington Village 3-2, and Beeston won 2-1 at home to Southwell City Reserves.
A handful of games were also played in Division One as Bingham Town moved into second place with a 5-0 win away to Hucknall Town Reserves, whilst AFC Colsterworth slipped to a 4-3 reverse at PMG Excel.
Stapleford Town Reserves won 3-2 at home to Ravenshead Reds thanks to an own-goal, and one apiece from Ethan Hatch and Michael Robb, whilst there were eight goals in the game between Bilborough TRD and visitors Beeston Old Boys Association.
A game of eight different scorers, the hosts won 6-2 thanks to goals from Adam Walker, Ricky Law, Adeel Mandibo, Tony Law, Remel White, and Brady Hastings. Replies coming via James Bacon and Kevin Bersch.
The one game played in Division Three also saw five goals, visiting Ravenshead Reds winning 3-2 away to Collingham Reserves.
